Is reading your passion? Are you curious to know how diffused reading is among youngsters in your and other countries? Would you like to have more information on non-formal activities to promote reading among young people?
Within the project READ – Reducing social Exclusion through a creative approach to reADing, CSC “Danilo Dolci” will held a public conference on the promotion of reading among young people on the 18th of November at 16.00, in via Roma 94. It will be the occasion to present the project and the results of the researches on this topic conducted at local level in the five partner countries of the project: Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Kenya, India.
Indeed, in this first phase of the project, partner organizations have analysed the local situation on literacy and reading among young people and gathered good practices on promotion of reading. The results of this research will be gathered in the State of Art, a comparative report that will be the starting point of the following activities.
The READ project involves five organizations from three continents (Europe, Africa, Asia): CSC “Danilo Dolci” (Italy); AMADEUS Association (Austria); RIS Dvorec Rakičan (Slovenia); International Transformation Foundation (Kenya); JRP (India). The aim of the project is to promote reading among young people through creative local activities, the involvement of educators, artists, youth centres, schools and libraries. The local activities will help youngsters in developing their motivation towards reading by interpreting books through arts (photography, theatre, drawing, etc.).
READ – Reducing social Exclusion through a creative approach to reADing is co-funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ programme, Capacity Building for Youth.
